The Wellness of YOU! - # 81 - Exercise

To continue with our discussion about the basics of nutrition that we wrote about a couple of days ago ….
Although it isn’t often thought of in the same breath as nutrition, it is a definite part of both nutrition and weight loss, and that is exercise.
When we speak about exercise, we are including both cardio and resistance training.

Cardio workouts are based around increasing your heart rate for a given amount of time each day. This will help to keep the inner functioning of your body balanced and will also help you maintain the energy levels you need to accomplish what you need to do everyday.
Resistance training, on the other hand, is used to tone and build muscles. By using resistance training, you will also be increasing bone density and warding off osteoporosis.
There are several different types of exercises that can help with your nutrition and weight loss goals. Try different types of routines to help you stay lean and toned, maintain flexibility and balance, build muscle and strength, plus build overall endurance. If you go to a gym for your exercise, talk to the physical trainers there to help you choose the types of exercise best suited for these routines.
Following the guidelines of these articles will help you to get healthy and stay healthy. Once you have a clear understanding of what is good to eat, what sort of exercises work best for you, and have a good knowledge of the right kind of vitamins and supplements to include in your nutrition program, you’ll be on the path to a wonderfully, healthy lifestyle.
Be sure not to get caught in the trap of fad diets and/or diet pills. These can throw you off your goals faster than anything and deprive your body of what it really needs to stay fit and healthy.
That will be it for today — I’ll be back soon with some more information to help you with your nutrition and weight loss program. I’m not promising that I’ll be writing every day. We are in the throes of moving and that is taking an exorbitant amount of time — time that is away from the computer. We’re hoping to be back to a more normal routine by early June. So, I hope you’ll bear with me.
