This blog is devoted to things on my mind. I may post often -- or -- I may not post for a couple of weeks. The content will be varied and this blog is not designed for search engines. It's just for us folks. Enjoy, and come back often. I'd also encourage your comments. Peace!

More About Sugar and Weight Loss

I sort of got sidetracked yesterday and was only able to get that one article out to you. Now, it’s time to get back to where we were on Thursday and back to our wellness, fitness and weight loss discussion.

We left off with talking about how addicted we are to sugar and the other simple carbohydates like the breads and rolls made of enriched flour, white rice, white pasta, etc. This is the stuff that puts on the weight.

For example, if you presently eat a candy bar every day and you stop — you could lose one pound every two weeks, provided you didn’t add anything to your diet to take its place. That’s 22 pounds a year.

How about a Cappuccino on your way to work — drop that and substitute a cup of regular tea or coffee without the sugar (throw some Splenda in if you want) — you could easily drop another three or four pounds a month.

As I mentioned above, it’s not just sugar. Your system can’t tell the difference between sugar and any other simple carbohydrate. White flour — white rice — it’s all the same as sugar to your digestive system. Eating those kinds of foods just translates to lots of extra flab around your middle, on your thighs, and wrapped around your internal organs and arteries.

So, why don’t we just give all that up?

We want to, right?

But, for some reason we just keep craving those things.

It’s really about will power, isn’t it?

We have to learn how to overcome the cravings.

You have to train your mind to not want that stuff any more.

I’ll be writing more about this topic in the coming days, but in the meantime why don’t you take a look at this web site: Click Here to Learn More!
