The Wellness of YOU! - # 110 - What About Nutritional Supplements?

If you haven’t heard the audio, then ….

Before we get into answering that question, “What About Nutritional Supplements?”, we should look at what they are. Obviously, nutritional supplements are various substances you can put into your body in order to balance out your nutritional needs. When you consider the lifestyle of all of us, it is obvious that we don’t do a great job of getting good balanced nutrition into our bodies. We all know this, and that’s why the supplement industry is thriving.

Back to our question — If you live a perfect lifestyle, and eat completely balanced nutritional meals day after day — you don’t truly need anything else to stay healthy. If you fall short of that, then you should add something to help you achieve that nutritional balance. Look at what you’re missing in terms of nutrition, and then supplement to make up the loss. (As always, keep in mind that too much supplementation can be just as harmful as not enough.)
One way to determine if you need some supplemental help is if you find yourself getting sick. Do you catch every cold? Do you get infections? Are your teeth in good shape? Are you always hungry? Are you tired all the time? These, and other symptoms could indicate that your nutritional system is out of balance and could benefit from supplementation.
Of course, as we get older, the need to supplement increases. As we get older, we tend to lose bone density, muscle mass and nutrients. We get more aches and pains and have a tendency to attract more illnesses. This is a good time to add extra nutrition to our diets through supplements. Regardless of age, you should always consult a medical professional to determine what you need, and if you need it.
When you first begin to use nutritional supplements start slowly. Follow the directions given on the product. Keep track of the changes in your body. You are supposed to feel better, have more energy, think more clearly, and should not be feeling any ill effects. Especially, watch your blood pressure.
As I mention in every one of these posts, I take supplements. I am getting older and have found these supplements that help me more than I would have imagined. I don’t hesitate to recommend them to everyone I meet who shows a need for help in their nutrition — regardless of age. Even small children can benefit from these. There is plenty of information about my supplements in the links below. In fact, you can even get a free sample of one of them by going to this site:
