This blog is devoted to things on my mind. I may post often -- or -- I may not post for a couple of weeks. The content will be varied and this blog is not designed for search engines. It's just for us folks. Enjoy, and come back often. I'd also encourage your comments. Peace!

The Wellness of YOU! - # 101 - Ten Nutrition Tips

posted in Nutrition and Weight Loss |

May I have a word with you?

Are your speakers turned on?

Volume turned up?

When you have a healthy lifestyle you will find that you have more energy and your body will feel more balanced. So, how do you follow a healthy nutrition and weight loss program. Here are ten things that can help you find that nutritious life you desire.

1. Exercise. This should be done at least four or five times a week. It doesn’t have to be long — just 20 - 30 minutes each time. This helps your body to build muscle in several different areas, helps you to lose weight and can prevent illnesses and disease.

2. Watch what you eat. Your daily meals should consist of a healthy balance of foods. Strive to eat good carbs and good fats, like those I eat as part of the South Beach Diet®. Knowing what your body needs, and not going overboard, or eating too little (remember we talked about that recently) can help in determining a more balanced body.

3. Take vitamins and supplements. Paying attention to when your body doesn’t feel balanced is important as well. Once you have determined this, you can balance it out through vitamins and supplements. Here’s some information about the nutritional supplements I add to my nutrition and weight loss program. These have helped me more than I would have ever imagined. I’m not kidding. Click on the links in the box below — you won’t be sorry!

You can find out more about the supplements that I take and highly recommend by looking at these pages:

4. Sleep. Oh yes! This one is so important. If I don’t get enough sleep, I feel it immediately. If you are sleep deprived, it causes your body to begin to shut down. Make sure that you feel rested and are getting the right amount of sleep. This will allow your body to work at a consistent and full speed every day.

5. Stay motivated. Often times, it is easy to work on improving our health for two weeks, then to stop once we don’t immediately see results. The major part of improving your health is remaining consistent and motivated in doing activities. Do what you have to do to make sure your health is an everyday concern. Don’t give up! The only way you’ll fail is if you stop.

6. Never stop learning. One way to keep learning is to read this blog. I do the research for you — so making this a part of your routine will save you a bunch of time. There are several different approaches to what improving health means. This doesn’t stop at diets, but also moves into holistic approaches that can be a part of your diet. Research and keeping up with studies about what works and what doesn’t, can help you in improving and maintaining nutrition and weight loss program.

7. Consult. There are several health care providers and nutritionists that can help you. If you are uncertain about the steps that you need to take, get in touch with the right person to see what you need to do.

8. Get the right body measurements. Getting your body mass index taken, as well as finding where you need to focus on in order to improve health can help you in staying motivated and focused for improvement with your health. I’ll be passing along some information on this in future articles.

9. Build a network. A network not only includes those that can provide information for you, but also support that will help you in building and maintaining health. I talked about this in my article a couple of days ago — get a little help and support from your friends and family. And, make me a part of your network. Read this blog!

10. Fight addictions. This is in relation to eating or not eating foods, as well as over consumption of different things. This can imbalance your body easily and cause problems. The biggie addictions are sugar, caffeine, and nicotine. Get these out of your life and you’ll live longer and enjoy how you feel everyday.

Consistently being aware of, and working towards your health can help you to live a more fulfilled and balanced lifestyle. By knowing what you need to do and taking certain steps, it can be assured that you will be able to have a more balanced nutrition and weight loss program and an energetic lifestyle.

Shanti,

Ron
