I wish more people would write their stories just like this. I feel like I'm there. And I can't wait for the next installment. What a gift. :-)

I guess one of the advantages to being a guy is we never have to go through the "last-name-changing" which often happens with marriages.

@Elaine -- I would never delete one of your comments. I think it's great you feel so free here!

Now, I do remember the last names of my first loves -- Some of them will be making an appearance in the memoir -- although I'll probably change their last names since it's also a novel.

Elaine Gray -- is that the same name as the woman in Grey's Anatomy?

See -- I can just ramble too! :-)

Peace ...

I've known folks without knowing their last names, we shared life stories but never a last name. My married moniker I'll share with anyone, it's not my name anyway. My maiden name, few people know unless of course they know me from my earlier days. My last name, if a stranger asks, is Gray. Elaine Gray. It's not really, I just like it.

Kids fighting over supposed boyfriends or girlfriends they will be hard pressed to recall the last name of in later years. Ha!

Although - I remember the name of the boy that the mean girls would pick on me about. Anyone who knew me as a thirteen to sixteen year old will remember not only our names but that wild first love. I don't regret it, I just wouldn't want to relive it.

Just thinking...I probably shouldn't be leaving this type of response. I should be asking or commenting. Oh well...You can always delete.
