I am Ron Rink – a 77-year old writer. I reside in Southwestern Ohio in a city near Dayton, Ohio.
When I was still a working person, I was in the Commercial Banking business in Detroit, where I grew up, and in Florida. I lived in Vermont for over 37 years and consider Vermont to be my true home. If I could stand the weather in Vermont during the colder months, I would still be there. As the old-time Vermonters like to say, “Ayup! We got nine months of winter and three month of poor sledding!”
Writing has always been a passion for me. About ten years ago I decided to write a memoir of sorts about my youthful life. It’s not a true memoir because I’ve had to change most names and some locations. But the story is true and several people have encouraged me because it’s a darn interesting story. I dropped the project a few years back, but picked it up again and decided I would self-publish via a serialized blog on the Internet.
I’m also a Buddhist and have been following a Buddhist lifestyle for more than 30 years. I also write a blog about Buddhism in words I hope those of us who live in western societies will understand. It’s my attempt to make Buddhism more accessible, rather than confusing.
My latest passion is Climate Change — so I’m also writing a blog about that. I feel the subject of Climate Change is equally, if not more than equally, important to the people of the world. If we don’t get on top of this issue soon, all the other problems or issues we worry about won’t truly matter any longer. We’ll be too busy trying to figure out how to survive.
