When I think about a good, solid nutrition and weight loss program, it has to include an element of exercise. There is usually a certain amount of controversy when the subject of weight lifting comes into the picture. Is it good for you? Or, does it work against you in some way.

Let’s take a look at it.

Obviously, the major aspect of lifting weights is to do something to your muscles. When you lift weights, you are adding stress to the involved muscles, and in doing so, you are going to make the muscles stronger, and, as another benefit, you will give yourself a better looking physique.

Another benefit, and one that fits in nicely with a nutrition and weight loss program is that weight lifting can decrease fat in the areas you’re working on. Fat has a tendency to store itself around muscles. When you stress those areas, the muscles will take over that same storage area and burn away the excess fat. This is why weight lifting (or resistance training) is often used to shape up a particular part of a person’s body. So, if you want to lose some extra fat around your arms or legs or belly, you do weight lifting routines that will work on those particular areas.

When you do weight lifting, you will learn that there is a certain way to breathe that adds oxygen to the muscles. That same breathing pattern is also excellent for your cardiovascular health.

As you can see, I am of the opinion that weight training is good for your nutrition and weight loss program. One thing to remember is that this form of exercise is not about how much you lift, but rather, the motion you use when you lift and the proper number of repetitions.

When you do embark on a program of weight lifting, it is good to be sure you have adequate nutrition. A good supplement can help to ensure you’re getting what you need. Here is some information about the nutritional supplements I add to my nutrition and weight loss program. These have helped me more than I would have ever imagined. I’m not kidding.
