The Wellness of YOU!! — # 29
More About Sugar and Weight Loss
Wow! I actually missed getting an article out to you yesterday. We got tied up with some personal business things and time got away. But, I’m back today with some words of wisdom about your wellness, fitness and weight loss program.
One of the things that I’ve written about before is what would happen to your weight if you could just find some way to stop giving in to those sugar cravings — those awful urges to toss something sweet into your mouth.
What if you could just cease to worry about those cravings — learn to relax and enjoy life — and still lose weight and keep it off?
What if I told you that there was a way to train your mind to ignore sugar and other food cravings? Would you be even more interested if it didn’t involve any drugs, surgery, or diet books? And if it not only helped you lose weight, but also improved your health, without making you feel deprived or picked on?
Have I peaked your interest?

Here is a fact that you don’t hear very often —
Most people (and that’s mostly Americans because of the habits we’ve formed in this country) could lose weight safely and quickly just by giving up sugar and other simple carbohydrates.
We all know that in order to lose weight we have to burn off more calories than we take in, right? However, every single person reading this who needs to lose some pounds knows that they are taking in more calories than they burn.
I’m sure we all know where most of those extra calories are coming from, right again? If you guessed sugar and other simple carbohydrates, you’d be right on the money! Those goodies can pack on the pounds faster than greased lightning, but they don’t do a thing for us nutritionally.
Look at your day — did you drink a couple of sodas? Did you have a donut or a sweet roll? Did you munch on a candy bar? How about a sandwich made out of white bread with some regular mayonnaise and some processed cheese? Did you have a latte this morning?
Each year, 120 pounds of added sweetener is consumed in America per person - that’s 1/3 pound of sugar per person every single day! That’s an added 630 calories.
Why is this true? Why can’t we give up sugar?
Did you know that people try and fail to give up sugar as often as smokers try and fail to give up smoking?
The reason we fail so often at giving up sugar is that it’s hard to do. It’s very much like giving up smoking.
To my way of thinking, there are two ways to be successful at giving up sugar and simple carbs …
(1) Get on a diet that will help you to lose the cravings and do it fast. That’s the South Beach Diet I talked about this and why I believe in it in previous articles.
(2) Train your mind to not want that stuff any more. I’ll be writing more about this topic in the coming days, but in the meantime why don’t you take a look at this web site: Click Here to Learn More!
This site is written by Jonni Good who truly understands the difficulties involved in giving up deep-seated cravings and has worked in the health industry for many years. Jonni has written a great self-help book on how to get rid of those awful sugar cravings. Here’s her web site link again:
