As I was thinking about the article for today, I happened to come across this article in the Health Day News, that talks about the importance of making lifestyle changes to help with your wellness program.
Although the article focuses on heart disease and what lifestyle changes can do to reduce the risk factors for that disease, what they have to say certainly applies to anyone — even those who don’t consider themselves at risk.
It was especially important to see what they say about diet. A large percentage of the diet was complex carbohydrates — remember — those are the carbs that are not as easily digested and therefore get used by the body instead of ending up as a bunch of excess fat that we have to pack away around our tummy areas. And, of course, exercise was an integral part of this study.
